K-Beauty Founder Spotlight – Episode 1: An Interview with YADAH’s Founder, Anna Kang

For our first episode, we’re honored to interview Mrs Anna Kang, the founder of YADAH, a clean beauty brand dedicated to gentle, natural skincare for all. Inspired by motherhood, Anna created YADAH to provide safe, effective skincare free from harsh chemicals. Let’s dive into her journey and the story behind the brand.

1. Quick Introduction

• What’s your name and the name of your brand?

"I am Eun Mee Kang, and our brand is called YADAH."

• Three words to describe your brand philosophy?

"Natural, clean, and quality." 

• Your go-to skincare product?

"My holy grail product is our “Green Tea Pure Cleansing Balm.” I have specifically created this product because I believe in the power of deep cleansing. It’s perfect for every day, every season, and every skin type."

2. What inspired you to start your own K-beauty brand? 

"As a mother, I became more conscious of what we put on our skin. Many skincare products contained harmful ingredients, and I wanted to create a safe, natural alternative—not just for my child but for everyone with sensitive skin. That’s how YADAH was born: a brand focused on clean, effective formulas using botanical extracts. Korea is home to rich natural beauty and resources, and I was inspired to deliver the power of the ingredients to all. In the end, the nature offers the most powerful ingredient and is the healthiest to your skin and body. ‘Nature in a bottle’ is what I have aimed for, which my team and I continue to focus on, as our greatest priority is to gift beauty through nature."

3. What challenges did you face as a woman entrepreneur in the beauty industry? 

"Personally, I believe in the importance of focusing on the positive aspects. Though I am grateful that I did not face challenges specific to my gender, I think I’ve always tried to focus on maintaining positivity as I believe that the beauty industry offers more to empower women than to challenge them."

4. How does your brand empower women through beauty? 

"We empower women by promoting healthy and natural beauty. With that, we believe in the skin's natural ability to regenerate, and we focus on harnessing the healing power of natural ingredients to support that process. Our ultimate goalis to allow women to feel confident and radiant in their own skin."

 5. What’s your personal beauty philosophy? 

I believe that true beauty comes from a balance between inner and outer well-being. When you nurture both, it will naturally enhance your overall beauty. Also, if you take the time to care for yourself, both physically and mentally, it will help to build stronger self-love and confidence, making you feel more beautiful inside and out.

6. Can you share one beauty secret or hack every woman should know? 

"I am happy to see that cleansing is getting more recognition these days! I can confidently say that cleansing is the most important step of the skincare routine as it provides a clean base for the next steps. Also, remember to always cleanse your skin even after using sun products! It’s not widely known that sun products must be cleansed thoroughly as it remains on your skin. That alone can cause breakouts!"

7. What advice would you give to women starting their own business in beauty?

"My advice would be to focus on consistency and dedication. The beauty industry can be challenging because of the abundance of brands and products, making success harder to achieve. However, if you stay true to your passion, work diligently, and create a clear vision and strong values, your hard work will pay off through great results."

8. What’s your hero product, and why is it special to you? 

Our Collagen Dual Lift Serum is everything that I visioned in a ‘perfect’ product. The formula was perfected as I was eager to find ways to maximize the properties of collagen for skin as I personally wanted to improve signs of mature skin. I wanted to make this product not only for myself but for anyone who shares the same skin concerns as me. The 2 carefully crafted formulations and the serum’s unique pumping and application will show you collagen that you have never seen before. Also, the packaging is beautiful, too!"
